You're threatening me about potholes?
Does the Governor have nothing else to do but complain about potholes? This really jerks my chain. What a whiner. And he does it because he knows it will hit nerves of more of us whining residents. Dang it.
Doyle said uncertainty over state revenues is forcing many local governments to delay bids on road repair projects -- including pothole repairs.
"They don't know how much money they're going to be getting," Doyle told reporters during a Capitol press conference this afternoon. "The snow is melting and people are anxious to get going with those repairs."
Yeah, that’s what I like – scare tactics and a complete lack of leadership.
Yes sure, I hate potholes. My car hates potholes. And there are surely a whole bunch of them out there. But dang it, don’t threaten me.
But if lawmakers fail to act soon, "you're going to see a lot of unhappy motorists out there."
Give me a break. You’re making me tremble Governor. Instead of threats, how about saying something like “Ok, Wisconsin, let’s all pull together and fight this budget thing. It’s not the time to be raising taxes; we’re all going to have to do some sacrificing, so let’s fight this together. At this point, I’m not proposing any decrease in municipal shared revenues, but if we have to do it, maybe only the biggest and deepest potholes can be fixed. Again, let’s find ways to work our way out of a very deep budget hole.”

I think you might be a little oversensitive about the Governor's comments and a little undersensitive to the value of early childhood education but I appreciate your well researched opinions. I hope you will continue to let us know what budget cuts (besides 4K) you think would be appropriate.

Just think of the 400 million dollars sucked out of the motorist funds last year, plus the unknown amount this year $$$
Gomer had it right.. Doyle has it wrong.
