4th Annual Kevin Kendall Ride for Trails
Next week is Bike to Work Week in the Fox Cities (i.e. May 11-17)! We’ve certainly experienced some nicer spring weather recently - I’ve seen plenty of people out on the trails on bikes, roller-blades, walking or jogging…that’s great. It’s fun to see the spring flowers and to smell the cut grass and the fragrance from the lilacs, tulips and daffodils.
During Bike to Work Week, not everyone needs to bicycle, but the important thing is to Activate our Fox Cities and to get off our posteriors and onto our feet. Walk, jog, roller-blade or bike. It’ll be good fun.
So, start out your week with Bike to Worship on Sunday morning, May 11.
Then finish Bike to Work Week by joining us in the fourth annual Kevin Kendall Ride for Trails beginning at Fritse Park in the Town of Menasha on Saturday, May 17 (see brochure). If you haven’t walked or biked the Trestle Trail Bridge yet, you will have the opportunity to do so as the bridge is adjacent to Fritse Park. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. near the bridge. The ride will be held…rain or shine!
A registration amount is encouraged with all monies going to Fox Cities Greenways to continue to build, extend and maintain trails in the Fox Cities area, and also to build infrastructure for trails (such as bike hitching posts, bike racks on buses, bike lockers, etc.). The first 50 people contributing $15 or more to the Greenways organization will receive a Fourth Annual Kevin Kendall Ride for Trails t-shirt.
