Too much nonsensical news - and what to do about it

Tea Party hits Green Bay this weekend. But first….

Big Labor secret meeting to end secret ballots
    Is that ironic? For sure.

Television cameras were barred from covering Vice President Biden's speech to big labor bosses today. The irony of the Vice President speaking privately to union bosses about the Card Check bill that denies workers the right to secret ballots in union organizing elections shouldn't go unnoticed. I guess workplace privacy is good for union bosses, but not okay for union workers.

In a statement, AFL-CIO spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander responded. “Traditionally, the AFL-CIO Executive Council meetings are closed press. Each of its sessions this week have been closed press."

    Hmmm.

    Oh my. I’m shocked.
President Obama says he is open to altering health plan he put forward in campaign.

Wow. GOP Senators dig in against huge spending bill
Feingold and Bayh join Republicans in opposition to earmarks and pork. But grant themselves a 10% raise?

"Mr. Feingold said he was troubled by the more than 8,500 earmarks in the bill. 'I generally don’t vote for these omnibus bills because of the process of jamming everything together,' he said. “They are always loaded up with this stuff.'"

    How about this?
Blagojevich (maybe Burris too?) inspires pension bill - those removed from office would be stripped of benefits. Imagine such heresy. Wonder if Wisconsin lawmakers ever thought of such a thing.

    Go Big Read?
I can’t decide if it’s ironic that a highly reputed college campus, 40,000-students strong, is jumping through hoops to get its kids to participate in a Community Read. Don't they read enough? “Building Community,” I guess – or something like that.

Ok – Get yourself to this weekend’s Tea Party
The Tea Party, Taxpayer Rally in Green Bay, this Saturday. Be there!!! 11 a.m. to noon, Titletown Brewing Company, 200 Dousman St., Green Bay. An outside rally – dress to the weather. A march to Congressman Kagen’s office is planned. Sponsored by Jerry Bader, WTAQ, Green Bay.

Or, Saturday’s Defending the American Dream Summit
I’m headed to the Defending the American Dream Summit at the Midwest Express Center, Milwaukee, Saturday, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity Wisconsin. Great lineup of speakers. Check it out.

Thanks Jo - I just signed up with AFP through the link you provided.

I'm overjoyed to see a true grassroots conservative organization spring up nationwide. The political parties just aren't hacking it. They all seem to have an agenda that supports their friends, be they ethnic, societal, business or labor. (Jack, you're on!)

At some point, and I think it's coming in the national financial meltdown being laid-out by Congress right now, the revolution WILL happen. In two years those of us who've invested early in the, "Don't blame me - I voted for the other guy!" bumper stickers will reap the benefits of our investment by getting to use them.

My hope is that the revolution will be politically violent enough to return the rights of the states back to the people, and away from the out of touch political prostitutes in Washington.

I wish. I took a header off a porch the other day and now my mobility is somewhat impared. I can still type, but walking pain-free is a challenge.

I have no doubt that the summit will be a watershed event in the comeback of common sense in Wisconsin and America. I read the list of speakers and I'm sure the place will be packed.

I wonder what the possibility would be to do a webcast of the speakers?
