Individual votes, Outagamie Co. Sales Tax

As you may have read here earlier this week, Resolution No. 48, taken up by the Outagamie County Board Tuesday night, would have authorized “the formation of the County Sales Tax Study Ad Hoc Committee to study issues related to reducing the property tax levy, ramifications of a county sales tax to businesses and taxpayers and what goods and services will be subject to the use tax."

Resolution No. 48 was defeated by the County Board Tuesday night by supervisors committed to nixing any new sales tax in Outagamie County before it so much as sprouted.

The County Board also took up Resolution No. 53 Tuesday night, which would approve placing a moratorium on the enactment of any size sales tax until the 2015 budget, unless a majority of the Board voted to set aside such moratorium.

    Schuette, Seymour
    Stevens, Grand Chute
    Stueck, Appleton
    Thern, New London
    Vanden Heuvel, Little Chute
