So Republicans have brought nothing to the table?

U.S. Representative Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) continues to bring forward policy alternative after policy alternative.

Ryan introduces "A Roadmap for America's Future 2.0"

(This Paul Ryan Wall Street Journal opinion piece was included in yesterday's FoxPolitics News.)

Republicans have ideas. Great, formidable, workable ideas. Ideas to make America great again.

Don't tell me Republicans aren't doing their part.

    Jo:
Just one thing missing from the report and that is what is the cost and/or savings with this total program. It all sounds good on paper and makes good sound bites for politics but until you explain how much it will cost and how much it will save or slow down the ever mounting federal debt, you have just words on paper.
In business you have to produce an ROI(Return on Investment) calculation to justify any project or spending. Until we get politicians to understand this we will continue to get stimulus packages, bailouts, and this Roadmap for America idea with no idea on the implementation costs or savings.
I think we need a whole new breed in Congress that understands this and is just not looking for more political sound bites to enhance their career.

Question. If Paul Ryan's solution is so wonderful (and it may well be, I have yet to read it), why haven't his Republican colleagues jumped on board and promoted it aggressively? As I watch the media, there is little attention to Ryan and even less mention of him by the high visibility party leaders.

Ryan is often mentioned as part of the leadership - the top 4 most often. He has repeatedly declined to serve at a higher leadership post because of his young family. He is very busy with his committee assignments as it is and will wait for several years before committing to additional leadership responsibilities. I believe his work is highly respected by his peers - but what do I know? Read it. It's good stuff. He knows of what he speaks.

I have read it and as I stated "show me the money". Until he can articulate what this will save and/or cost it is just ideas on paper that, as one commentor has stated, doesn't seem to have much traction with his collegues.

I have not heard/read Paul Ryan's proposals and I don't know why the GOP is not jumping on the bandwagon with his proposals - if, in fact, they are not. I do know that I often hear his name brought up as one of the "up and coming" rising stars in the GOP with a wonderful background, specifically I believe in finance and budget. Can you think of anything more needed in Washington?? He is a fresh face with innovative ideas that, frankly may scare the old Guard ~ do 'ya think? I spend part of my year in another state and belong to the local Republican Club and when I tell people where my voting rights are, they often tell me they've heard of and are impressed with Paul. Although I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, I am too!

Hey ~~~ wouldn't it be great to have a Palin/Ryan or Ryan/Palin ticket!!! Two young, enthusiastic, down-to-earth people with a plethora of views on how to stop the uncontrolled freight train headed for destruction and reverse the course of our nation. It would put "punch" in the staid GOP for sure.

In my opinion, the reason their idea's aren't being pushed is because secretly, they favor Government takeover of our Health Care system. The Repubs are hiding behind the almost super majority in the Senate, so their true intentions are not revealed. It is an election year. I predict 1 or 2 RINO's will reach across the aisle in the Senate to pass Health Care. Scott Brown by the way, voted for Romney Care in Mass, he supports gun control, abortion, amnesty for Illegal Aliens. You should have seen his morning after election speech on C-Span. He comes right and says he favors Uncle Sam hijacking our health care system. See video here.
