Kagen says you’re confused. Me too.

When Kagen gets going on a speech, I guess he can’t quite stop. Kevin Binversie honed in on Kagen comments that his constituents are “confused” and “We [Kagen and crew] have to work hard to get our message through.”

What? Binversie says it means Kagen sees polling that says he’s losing. Wishful thinking, if nothing else. I’m offended by why Rep. Kagen says he ran in the first place.
U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen told delegates he ran for Congress to oppose a pair of wars being waged by "a president who couldn't think things through."
Be assured, I’m not a bit confused about Dr. Kagen – He best look in the mirror when he’s talking about working to get a message through and being a big confused. Grrrrrr.

Christian Schneider piles on with impressions from Wisconsin Dem Party chair Mike Tate.
TATE: Steve Kagen, I think that what’s beneficial to him is that there’s seven or eight Republicans running against him in the primary. He’s been a strong voice for the people of that district, he voted against bailouts, he voted for job creation, and he’s going to run hard on his record.
Kagen can win because he has 7 or 8 opponents? Kind of backing into the thing, don’t you think? Schneider thinks it’s pretty weird for the big Dem kahuna to think that voting against the TARP bailout makes Kagen’s a “strong voice” for his constituents. Geeez. I don’t think so.

Then there’s liberal, bright, sometimes saucy Milwaukee attorney-blogger Tom Foley’s insightful observation. Still in blame-game mode, Kagen goes off the deep end
We must never forget that four years ago, when our children and our jobs and our families' health and our national economy were being destroyed — being destroyed by policies that rewarded wealth rather than work — it was these Republican policies that drove our economy into the ditch. It was the Republican policies that destroyed 8-1/2 million jobs. Destroyed 8-1/2 million jobs. It's not an easy task.

One of my friends put it this way: What George Bush has done singlehandedly, the Germans and Japanese together in World War Two couldn't do it together.
Even Foley says “That seems a little much.”

    Indeed. Geeez.

"They actually believe what they see on TV and think it's reality," Kagen said. "We have to work hard to get our message through."
I guess getting a message through the television clutter is supposed to be a bad thing? Hmmmm since when did what you see on TV become the truth? Remember all those death panels?

Naturally, Steve Kagen is a Doctor who was elected to Congress - he must be endowed with a special wisdom unknown to the common man.

In the words of the great American author: "Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself."

Sounds as if Kagen borrowed the concept of the Big Lie...Heil BHO!

    Hot off the presses:

Republican Marc Trager will drop out of the race for the 8th Congressional District nomination.

Trager's departure thins the field to take on incumbent U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen, D-Appleton, to state Rep. Roger Roth, former state Rep. Terri McCormick, Door Co. Sup. Marc Savard, former roofing contractor Reid Ribble of Kaukauna, De Pere attorney Andy Williams, andSayner conservative activist Kerry Thomas.

Trager has scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. in Green Bay.

The most confusing thing about Steve Kagen is that he refers to himself as a representative of the people.

Geez Dave, your comment is a real stretch. Just how do you think Dr. Kagen plans on getting that message of his through? Tons and tons of questionable TV ads, as he has in the past. He will want us believing what we see on TV is the truth.

    Jo,
TV is trash. The TV messages about death panels etc. were total lies. I don't think you have any evidence of Kagen commercials at that time (if any commercials at all) that were anywhere close to the equivalent. If you do please send me the messages.

Dave, if you didn't see the 2008 (and 2006) TV ads by both the Kagen and Gard camps, you were sleeping - or watching zero television, in which case, you have no credibility to talk about television. Please search out the ads yourself. Be assured, I'm not defending the quality of most television programming, but I repeat, Dr. Kagen's ads were insulting - and as I recall, stretched the truth. You need only watch this time around....

    Jo,
Your original post was about messaging related (I believe) to the health care debate. This was not about campaign commercials. Like I said show me Kagen's TV ads that lied about health care.
