Ohmigosh. Rep. Kagen’s breaking with his President

I say it again. Must be election time. And these press releases tell me he’s worried. Almost better than a poll…
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KAGEN QUESTIONS OBAMA ADMINISTRATION'S DECISION TO SUE ARIZONA

APPLETON, WI– Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. issued a statement today in response to the Obama Administration’s decision to bring a lawsuit against the State of Arizona because of their new state law giving local police the authority to detain and question individuals suspected of being in Arizona illegally.

“The action taken today by the U.S. Attorney General distracts our nation from addressing the real challenges we face: securing our borders, enforcing all our immigration laws, and stopping illegal immigration. Lawyers in Washington cannot secure our borders or catch those who break our laws. Arizona has asked for our help, not a federal lawsuit."
Siding with Jan Brewer on the immigration issue? What? A couple of weeks ago it was love and kisses to the NRA. And then it was firefighters, motherhood, apple pie - and of all things, fiscal responsibility. Geez. he's worried.

This has always been Kagen's game plan...talk like a moderate conservative in Wisconsin, vote like a liberal in Washington.

If he had to actually vote to approve or disapprove the lawsuit is there any doubt which way he would vote?

Just check out his FEC filings to see....two $2000 donations from Nancy Pelosi...you don't get those by bucking the party.

I want you to re-read his statement:

“The action taken today by the U.S. Attorney General distracts our nation from addressing the real challenges we face: securing our borders, enforcing all our immigration laws, and stopping illegal immigration. Lawyers in Washington cannot secure our borders or catch those who break our laws. Arizona has asked for our help, not a federal lawsuit."

He did not oppose anything done by the DOJ. He stated that the decision is a distraction, etc. HOWEVER, he in no way took a position against the decision.

I almost fell on the floor laughing when I first heard this. You just have to look up his voting record to see where he stands on all issues. The only time he "breaks" with the Pelosi bunch is when it's politically expedient such as, a nod to the NRA.

I'm in correspondence with Kagen quite often and he says, 'he's working for me all the time." No he isn't, because not one thing I've asked him to vote on has he ever voted the way I would like him to.

In my opinion he just thinks that Ms. Pelosi will no longer be Speaker of the House after the November election so he's going to run Right while the running is good, praying all the while that 8th district voters will suffer group amnesia!
